Jukrin (Rachel) Moon, an assistant professor of industrial and systems engineering at the University of Iowa, advocates for human-centered artificial intelligence (AI). She believes the true potential of AI is found in better collaboration, not just better algorithms, as AI evolves from a simple tool into a collaborative partner. Through a research initiative focused on cognitive ergonomics, she has explored diverse work systems—including pharmacy, nursing, critical care, and crisis management—building on her doctoral and postdoctoral work at Texas A&M University, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Houston Methodist Hospital.
